Founded on compassion, driven by dedication

Nawabi Tails Rescue Foundation was born from the vision of Dr. Vishakha Shukla, who believed that every creature deserves love, care, and a chance at a better life. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Shukla and her team began rescuing animals from a small 3BHK apartment in Lucknow. With a shared passion for animal welfare, they worked tirelessly to provide medical care, nourishment, and shelter to animals in distress.

As the organization grew, so did its impact. Today, Nawabi Tails Rescue Foundation has rescued and rehabilitated over 5000 animals, including stray dogs, cats, bulls, and monkeys. Our dedicated team of almost 10 members works relentlessly to ensure every animal receives the love and care they deserve.

Our Founder – The Compassionate Heart of Dr. Vishakha Shukla

Dr. Vishakha Shukla, a dedicated dental surgeon and founder of Nawabi Tails Rescue Foundation, has always had a passion for helping those in need. Growing up, she was deeply moved by the suffering of stray animals and made it her mission to make a difference.

With the support of her parents and siblings, Dr. Shukla began taking care of stray animals from a young age. She would often bring home injured creatures and nurse them back to health, teaching her family the value of compassion and kindness.

During her first year of medical school, she rescued two puppies, Bella (Bellatrix) and Dude, who became the inspiration for Nawabi Tails. She coined the name to symbolize her desire to help all those in need, and her journey as an animal rescuer began.

After completing her degree, Dr. Shukla established a successful dental practice, but her true calling remained helping animals. She began using her earnings to fund animal rescues and eventually decided to dedicate her life to this cause, giving up her practice to focus on Nawabi Tails full-time.

As she pursued her medical degree, Dr. Shukla’s commitment to animal welfare only grew stronger. This is a flexible section where you can share anything you want. It could be details or some information about feature three.

Our Home

Located in the city of Lucknow, India. We began as a humble initiative in a 3- bedroom apartment, which now has blossomed into a small sanctuary to provide refuge to the vulnerable animals regardless of size or species.
